Hello to the tens of thousands of people who will be reading this. hah.
Its a sunny sunday afternoon and I feel like this is the first day that I have had to do nothing in a long long time. However appealing this may be when I'm at work I always picture these lazy days to be a lot more fun than they actually turn out to be. Ah well, the grass is always greener. Having said that I guess sitting down to my fathers laptop (mines being a piece of ndjfhfdmgn) and sipping a cup of green tea while choosing uni courses isnt a complete waste of a sunday. (+ am getting to see randy this arvo.. and taking a look at the devestated lennox!)
Anyway, the reason that I am writing this (yes, i do have a fair reason) is to have a little bit of a bitch about the radio these days.
We have started putting it on at work, thus, for the past few weeks, I have been listening to it for about 9 1/2 hours a day. Maybe this is just way to long to be listening to ANY radio station without wanting to throw the stereo out of a ten storey building, but seriously! I used to think triple J was the station to listen to .. packed with a range of songs that not only give you the newest realeases from your favourite artists but also kept a constant taste of bands who may not be too well known but are completely awesome... while avoiding annoying American artists only fit for a person with a blood alcohol reading of 983578.3298578. Triple J. Main Stream crap. Not gunna happen. errrr... wrong. I swear to god, if ciara claps her hands any more they will fall off, and just because mumford and sons won your hottest 100 doesnt mean we want to listen to them 100 times a day. really. So I have now come to the conclusion that Triple J is only good to listen to for about half an hour a day, like I used to, as after that all it does is repeat what you have already heard. If I wanted to I could put ten shitty songs on my ipod on shuffle, I dont need a radio station to do it for me. One other thing is the GRONKS that they have calling in. Every afternoon I have to listen to them trying to construct a sentence fit for radio, while telling thousands of people facts about their life we really didnt want to know about. Your parter doesnt satisfy you in bed... I do not care. Though it may be amusing, sometimes I just dont want to hear this stuff every. single. day. At work we are now listening to triple Z, and although i used to think it was only good for playing music that went well with a bottle of vodka on a saturday night, I must give them credit for playing a diversity of music from different time periods... and not having the daily percentage of 'music' to 'gronks talking' as 30 to 70. However, I do wonder what kind of drugs the hosts of triple Z are taking before work to make their voices so god dam annoying. And, being a commercial radio station, the adds pretty much make triple J nearly worth listening to for 9 hours a day. If I ever hear the mystar dude going on about how its 'free for a year.. a whole human year 'ever again I think there will be consequences. So, theres my radio rant... and if anyone knows a good radio station to listen to that will get coverage in the northern rivers please let me know. I dont want to have to resort to the ABC or BAY FM and lose my soul amid stories about ned kelly and songs that were played back in the 1800's.
